Express Entry- An Easiest Pathway to Canada PR Visa from India

The Canadian Express Entry system offers one of the easiest and fastest pathways to get Canada's permanent residence visa from India. Launched in the year 2015 by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada, this Express Entry is designed to meet the labor market needs of Canada by choosing the skilled and talented workers around the globe from different occupations and industries.

The Express Entry follows a point-based system and reviews a candidate's profile on the basis of his or her key profile factors like, Age, Work Experience, Education, Language Ability, adaptability, etc. The skilled worker who wishes to apply for Canada PR through Express Entry System, must score minimum 67 points or above to qualify.

It is an application management system designed for three key economic immigration programs of Canada:

1. Federal Skilled Worker
2. Federal Skilled Trades
3. Canadian Experience Class

Once applicants qualify, they enter the express entry pool where the IRCC selects and issues Invitation to Apply to high ranking candidates for Canada PR through periodic EE draws.

Hence, if you wish to obtain Canada PR visa from India, then you must score high points and meet the other eligibility requirements.

The minimum eligibility requirements for federal skilled workers are as follows:

• An applicant must have minimum 1 year of work experience in the last 10 years before submitting his or her application for Canada PR. The experience has be of full-time, continuous job or equivalent part-time job in a skilled occupation that is listed under any one of the NOC TEER Categories, i.e., TEER 0, TEER 1, TEER 2, or TEER 3. 

• An applicant must prove his or her language proficiency in any one of the Canada's official language, i.e. French and English. An applicant must score minimum band of CLB 7 in an approved designated French or English language test. 

• An applicant must provide his or her foreign or Canadian educational credential. In case of foreign educational credential, he or she must provide an Educational Credential Assessment report from a designated body to prove that the overseas diploma, certificate or degree provided by them is equivalent to Canada's educational credential. 

• An applicant must meet the basic admissibility requirements of Canada for permanent residency. For this, an applicant must ensure that he or she doesn't have any criminal background or any medical condition, for which he or she can produce a character and police certificate and a medical examination certificate.

Apply through Canada Express Entry System

In order to apply for Canada PR as an Indian skilled worker via Express Entry, you must follow a proper process to apply for Canada PR visa from India. The Express Entry follows a simple and quick two-part process.

Let's have a look at the process below:

# Step 1

All the interested candidates are required to submit their Express Entry profile in the pool. It is similar to an EOI (Expression of Interest) that notifies the government of Canada that you are interested in becoming a permanent resident.

Once your profile is submitted, you will be awarded a CRS score that ranks you among other applicants in the pool. Your Express Entry profile remains active for next one year and you can update it with new information as and when required.

Within approximately two weeks time, the government of Canada conducts regular Express Entry draw to issue Invitations to Apply  or what we generally called as ITAs to invite eligible, high scoring candidates from the pool.

If you receive an ITA from  the IRCC, then you can move to the second step of the Canada immigration process.  In case, you haven't received an ITA within 12 months validity period, they you can submit a new Express Entry profile.

# Step 2

After receiving your ITA from the IRCC, you must submit your final and complete Canada PR visa application online along with the relevant documents and information.

If your application is found to be complete and IRCC validates all the information, then you will be granted your Canadian permanent resident status. Any accompanying spouse, children or family members will also get Canadian permanent residency (if you have mentioned them in your visa application).
