Ontario has announced that they will be eying the priority occupations, which have increased demand in the province. The ICT is one of such priority occupations in Ontario as well as in Canada. As per a recent report, Canada needs about 1,80,000 ICT graduates by 2019 to fill the vacancies across its fast-growing industries and organisations. Hence, in the week beginning June 26, Ontario will target Information and Communications Technology Sector (ICT) occupations and subsequently, issue them NOI (Notification of Interest). The Ontario will issue the NOI to the candidates to apply in the Express Entry- Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream of OINP. The Candidates with CRS (Comprehensive Ranking system) score below 400 points will also be selected, provided they have ICT experience. Usually, Ontario has set the criteria of 400 CRS points to issue NOI to the candidates in the Express Entry pool. Process after NOIOnce a candidate has received the NOI (Notification of Interest) from Ontario, he/she will have to register their profile in the OINP e-filing portal within six months of the receiving the NOI. After six months, the validity of NOI will expire. After registering in the profile in OINP e-filing portal, a candidate will get 14 days to complete and submit their application for Express entry- HCP stream of OINP. However, the deadline of 14 days must not be confused with the NOI validity period of six months. Apart from inviting priority occupations, Ontario will continue to issue NOIs to the express entry pool candidates as per its regular process, i.e. selecting and inviting candidates with 400 or above CRS points.
