Higher Points for French Skills- Is Learning French new success Key for Immigration to Canada

Canada being the hotspot immigration destination, every update or rule change in Canada immigration process becomes the talk of the town. The new Express Entry system update has created a lot of buzz now among the aspirants and applicants of Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) via federal Express Entry System. The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently announced that it will now allocate additional points for the good French skills of the Canada PR applicants in Express Entry system.

Extra points for French Skills

Now the candidates will get additional points for good French skills. Please find below the new changes: Now as per the latest Express Entry system, update, if you have scored NCLC 7 or higher on all four French language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), you will get:

  • 25 additional points, if you scored CLB 4 or lower in English (or you have not had an English test). Earlier 15 points used to get allocated for the same.
  • 50 additional points, if you scored CLB 5 or higher on all four English skills. Previously 30 points were given for the same.

This addition of crucial immigration points will help raise the total Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Point score of applicants and hence, help them obtain the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian PR visa from Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
